Costume becomes a real-time reflection in many performances. And in order to convey the spirit of the era a historical costume must be very accurately recreated. Production designer in the theater should thoroughly examine the time and materials, in order to reconstruct costumes for the actors through separate elements or completely. So costume designer Daria Held was engaged in such a hard work during the preparation of sketches for the musical drama «The Downs Here are Quiet». Written by the authors from Novosibirsk A. Krotov (composer) and N. Krotova (librettist) based on the novel by Boris Vasilyev the play was prepared for the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. The idea of the performance is to show the fate of woman in the war. Daria worked as a production designer. Her aim was to recreate women historical war outfit of that time which can underline the features of the character. Costumes appeared to be so realistic that the audience truly believed that those were real Patriotic War outfit fully saved till nowadays. And this is the highest evaluation of the master’s work.
